Our source Youth Corp member, Progress Oberiko furthers writes about the family.

She wrote:

''A conversation ensued between him and his wife one day and it turned into an argument, people were listening; "You this woman, Shey u see what you have caused us, it was you who made us end up like this!" And the woman retorted "When I was telling you, you didn't listen, done blame it on me o, it was also your fault too".

And they quarrelled and argued just like a normal family would do, but Las Las, they still did the trekking together, one big family!

How do they feed? They beg. And their pattern of begging is bizarre. The man does the approach. He approaches you politely and tells you the exact specification of what he wants. If he requests for money he tells you how much you're gonna give him. And it doesn't exceed the number "7". It must be #700. Give him #1000 he'll reject it.

If you are giving him foodstuffs like yam, it must be 7 tubers, else he'll reject. And from my findings, they have five kids although the two older ones were taken away by the wife's family. From my deduction therefore, he only accepts the figure '7' because he has a family of seven consisting him, his wife and his 5 kids. How amazing!''

A 16-man human organs syndicate which specialises in selling vital body organs to buyers in Kogi State and other neighbouring States have been arrested.

A self-confessed gang leader and the vigilante leader in Ankpa community, 39-year-old, Yakubu Hamidu, said himself and members of his vigilante group killed and harvested the organs of their victims. He said they have killed several victims, including males and females and removed their organs and body parts; mostly heads, kidneys, and other vital body organs.

Parading the suspects before newsmen in Abuja on Friday, the Nigeria Police Force spokesperson,  Jimoh Moshood, said the police began investigation into the group’s activities following repeatedly cases of abduction, killing and removal of vital body parts of victims reported in Ankpa town and environs as well as the killing of a Police Inspector, Abdul Alfa, at Ejule Police outpost in Ofu LGA while on foot patrol on the 28th November, 2017.

Gang leader Hamidu admitted that they were sponsored by one Abdulahi Ibrahim Ali a.k.a (Halims) and one Shaibu Adamu a.k.a Aye-Marina, whom they handover the body parts to after killing their victims and severing their body organs and collecting huge sums of money in hundred thousands of Naira.

Aye-Marina’s driver known as Zakaru receives the body parts from Yakubu Hamidu.

Hamidu admitted to have personally sold four male private parts and human organs to politicians at prices ranging from N100, 000 to N250, 000 each.

The suspects further confessed and named some victims they have killed and removed their body parts; including Inspector Abdul Alfa, who was ambushed and axed to death on the head from behind by Julius Alhasan and his gang.

All the suspects have made voluntary statements to the Police Investigation Team and have confessed to the various criminal roles they played in the recent kidnapping, gruesome murder and ritual killing attacks on innocent residents in Kogi State.

The Police said investigation is being concluded and efforts are being intensified to arrest other suspects who include prominent personalities linked to the crime but still at large.

The suspects would be arraigned in court on completion of investigation.

Two US teens have been charged for allegedly raping a 9-month-old girl and filming it.

When the baby's mother saw the video of her daughter being raped on her cellphone, the recognised the perpetrators and immediately reported to the police.

Police said in another video Hayes was allegedly performing sex acts on the child.

The men were arrested in February after the mother reportedly used social media to identify one of the men and took the information to police.

Isiah Hayes and Daireus Ice have been charged with raping a baby.

A Facebook user and a corps member named Progress Oberiko, took to her page to share a story of an inseparable family of 5 battling mental illness in Ogoja, Cross River State.

According to her, the family are never separated and are always seen walking together. But one of the interesting things she noticed about them was their brilliant and fluent command of English language.

She wrote:

This happens to be the weirdest situation I've seen in my entire life. I have been trying to get this shot for the past five months and whenever I tried, they either walk past too quickly, change direction, or not just close enough.

At other times I may be on a bike and whenever I ask the cyclist to go slow so I can get a shot of them, he'll be like "Hmmm, Abeg o, I nor fit stop this bike make u snap o, if the madman catch u, your own Don finish!

And that's how it went.

The first time I saw them here in Ogoja, my heart melted, I was livid. And my mind wandered, searching for the closest guess as to why a whole family, husband, wife, and three beautiful children would be plagued with INSANITY.

My heart could not contain the curiosity, then i began to ask questions. Anytime I drove past them in a car or on a bike, I engage the driver or someone in a conversation about them.
I have seen them trekking long distances under the scorching sun?, I've also met them in the market making enquiries about where they could get a particular item to buy.

They're never separated, always found walking together, complete family. But the intriguing part is their communication. Jeez! This "MAD" family speak CORRECT QUEENS ENGLISH. They flow in CLEAN grammar. Na this one dey burst my head ?

I've heard the man instructing one of his children who was walking sluggishly behind him as they trekked down the road; "Hey Dorcas, will you hurry up, C'mon girl, meet up with the pace". And I marvelled.
At the market he asked someone for directions and he went; "Hey ma'am, Pls where can I get this and this... "

As you can see their dreadlocks is twisted, showing that it has lasted for God knows how long ? This means that this madness nor be today. E Don tay!

A conversation ensued between him and his wife one day and it turned into an argument, people were listening; you'll be so shocked when you hear what the content of their argument was?..

Imo State Governor, Okorocha is not pulling down Jacob Zuma, former South African President's statue.
Okorocha stated this on Friday in reaction to recent calls for the statue to be pulled down.
In October 2017, the Imo government erected a statue of the former South African president in Owerri, the state capital, a move that had irked many Nigerians.
Following his redignation amid allegations of fraud, some Nigerians asked the Governor to demolish Zuma's statue.
In a statement by Sam Onwuemeodo, the chief press secretary, Okorocha insisted erection of the statue is justified.
He said the statue was erected when Zuma was in power and not after he left office and that the former leader also resigned “honourably.”

A grieving mum who wanted to be artificially inseminated with her dead son's sperm has been blessed with twins.

Rajashree Patil, 49, was informed by doctors that she was unfit for IVF treatment using a sample taken from her son, Prathamesh, who died of a deadly tumour.

She got a surrogate, 35, who has now given birth to twins.

Rajashree says she will raise the little boy and girl, who are technically her grandchildren, as though they are her own.

Rajashree, who works as a teacher, said:

"I was carrying the soul of my son in me and was looking for a body to breathe it into. Doctors had preserved my son's semen before they commenced cancer treatment to preempt any negative effects of the medicine used on him. Due to this I have been able to get my son back."

Doctors in Germany collected his sperm and put it in storage while Prathamesh went through gruelling cancer treatment, and because he was unmarried he nominated his mother and sister to use his semen sample after his death.

We know very little about the violence experienced in the lives of migrant women living in Ireland. The last comprehensive Irish study on sexual violence, the SAVI report, was conducted in 2002, at a time when migrants and ethnic minorities were not even listed among marginalised groups….
Carol Ballatine is carrying out research to describe the experiences of African women living in Ireland who have been affected by VAW. Many women have told her that in spite of the challenges, they feel protected by the laws in Ireland, and they feel more trust in the police and the judiciary here than in their countries of origin. Nonetheless, Irish legislation on VAW is not as strong as in many other countries, and just 1% to 6% of domestic abusers ever receive a prison sentence. While some African women feel a greater sense of freedom in Ireland than they did in other countries, there is much still to be done, for everybody affected by VAW, not only for migrants.
If you have a personal experience to share, Carol would like to interview you for her research. You can text her on 086 6045546 with the word Yes, and she will call you back straight away.
Carol Ballatine is a Phd Researcher in Gender, Globalisation and Rights at National University of Ireland, Galway.
Violence against women is a poorly understood issue for migrants in Ireland was an article she wrote for October’s edition of Metro Eireann. Read full article on this Link.

The former wife of the Ooni of Ife Olori Wuraola has come out to confirm that her marriage to the reigning Ooni of Ife Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II has crashed.

There have been rumours of trouble in the marriage of the Ooni due to several undisclosed reasons. Now, the Olori has reverted to her maiden name Zaynab Otiti Obanor.

Read her full statement below:

We have got to stop this culture of shaming and vilifying women with false stories of infidelity & nefarious behavior. The spreading of false information (through "sources" afraid to be identified) is the mark of cowards and a cover up for guilty parties to justify their horrific actions. There is absolutely no truth to the media circulated lies of infidelity and infertility- on my end.

What I can confirm, is that the Ooni and I are no more. I inhale love & exhale gratitude. My journey continues as a Humanitarian aiding women and victims of domestic violence & abuse with the United Nations. No matter how much time you've invested, no matter the use of media to silence & manipulate, no matter the circumstance, slander, embarrassment, threats and lies: Get out and seek immediate help! We've seen this movie before. Women being dragged in the press & blamed for everything under the sun. This behavior is unacceptable.

I urge those involved to be mindful of their actions for the eyes of our Almighty God are always watching. The seeds of slander is a cancer that harvests to eat away the souls of the planter. The throne is sacred and the attempts to tarnish the name of a Queen, in defense or on behalf of a silent King makes all involved look terrible. Remain dignified in all you do. It's not the end of the world, but the start of a new chapter and you must turn the page with grace. The world is watching.

As I bid adieu to this chapter, my wish to you all is to step into your lives - boldly & fearlessly, the way God intended and live not just by words, but through example. The best chapter in our lives is the one we are writing now. Thank you for your love and support. With peace, love & light, -Her Highness, Zaynab Otiti Obanor."

APC ! Change! The crowds were mammoth and so was the frenzy generated by the idea of the  new coalition which had as its presidential flag bearer, a man reputed to possess the talisman that will conjure out of existence, all the problems of the country.

Today, Nigeria is directly experiencing the Presidency of Muhammad Buhari which was built on great expectations. Alas, the presidency has been mired in incredible contradictions.

The presidency of a nation carries its sovereignty and in most cases, come with humongous powers. In Nigeria, the presidency is a leviathan. Because the presidency is an administrative or governmental entity that surrounds the office of the president of a nation or state usually personified by a man or a woman elected for such purpose, it is usually powerful and awe-inspiring. The news making the round about rodents eating up the office of President Muhammadu Buhari is a new low that we never bargained for in this administration.

Sometimes, we wonder what might be going through the minds of people of power and their handlers when they do certain things. When the news filtered in , the reaction was a mixed one. The news elicites both a sort of disbelief  and at the same time uproarious laughter because of its incredulity. We never thought that a time will come in this country that such lines will emanate from the governing authority. In an administration that budgets billions of naira for environmental services in the Aso Rock villa, rodents ravaging the office of the President to such an extent that major renovations become imperative is a sad development. What sorts of media handlers are these? Is mediocrity so pervasive in Nigeria that the pinnacle of power in the country is not spared the unfortunate reality.

President Muhammadu Buhari came to power on a groundswell of hopes ,expectations and goodwill but the way and manner he  has been going about the administration of the country leaves so much to be desired. Nigerians voted out a president that was thought to be clueless, colourless and incompetent and the hopes and expectations of the people were that the APC and more specifically, President Buhari,  will be  antitheses of the ousted leader and sacked political party. Strangely, for a President and a party that came to power on a mantra of change, a good many things about the administration have portended grave contradictions.

The President has been sick and we all wish him well, at least majority of Nigerians wish him  well so that he can have the stamina to govern and deliver on his promises. But the secrecy that shrouded his sickness seems quite unnecessary. In an age when  information is the currency of the government and at a time when leadership is measured by  such things as openness, accountability, transparency and responsiveness, such nondisclosure is never a plus to the administration.

Part of the talking points of the APC during the last election was the embarrassing level of  medical tourism among Nigerians, particularly the political elites. But in the second medical vacation of the President, he spent more than 100 days in London where he was receiving treatment.

The absence of information about the status of the President's health gave room to wild rumours and insinuations about his well-being. Initially, those around him were mute and when questions were being asked, they began to release  pictures that did more harm than good about his true state of health. This erroneous interface with the public on the President's health was followed by the pilgrimage of the political class to Abuja House in London to catch a glimpse of him. It was such a huge honour to the select few among the public officials who got such honour as to have a glimpse of the President. All these could have been managed better.  The dwindling goodwill or public opinion rating of the President could have been saved  so  also the taxpayers money that were spent by the public officials who relished the  pilgrimage  to the President in London.

The President's speech on return to the country has been mired in controversy. While some hailed the 6 minute - long speech, others have given it a putdown.

The attempt by the police to gag the 'OurMumuDonDo' coalition that was protesting the prolonged absence of the President from his duty post was in bad taste. The fact that the police gave  protection to the counter protesters who came to support the President while mishandling the Charly Boy -led protest was egregious. The right to peaceful  protest is inherent in democracy as it is  inalienable in man.

For the sake of posterity, our leaders should wean themselves off the monarchical instincts that seem to drive their interactions with us. When addressing the nation,  My Dear Citizens is inappropriate. Fellow Citizens would  have been better. No President or Governor is a monarch in our constitutional democracy. They are all in power by virtue of the people's will, therefore, the people must be respected  not only as the real sovereign but also as  the employer of these public officials. That is the  minimum standard that should not be breached again.

To be frank,  Nigeria is presently facing serious  existential challenges that require  tact and forthrightness to address. Being stuck with the idea that Nigeria's unity is settled and non-negotiable is erroneous. Nothing is settled about our Unity. The numerous agitations and fissiparous tendencies within the country belie such position and mindset.

President Buhari cannot claim ignorance of the cries for the  restructuring of this country before his election and restructuring was part of the carrots dangled before the electorates by his party, All Progressives Congress(APC), in the runup to the last election cycle. The President should again wean himself off such illusion of unity of the country. The country is anything but united.

However, what partisanship could do to the psyche of people is quite worrisome. Despite the annoying romance of APC with blunders and the unforced errors of President Muhammadu Buhari, some dye- in- the wool supporters of the President are incapable of seeing  any wrong in the administration nor are they ready to tolerate opinions that run contrary to their perception of the President's leadership style. Such hailers (the adjective for Buhari supporters on the social media) are anything but patriotic. Blind loyalty is a disservice to both the President and the nation. Such disposition will make the President set in his beliefs and worldviews and render him incapable of considering alternative view points while the nation suffers collateral damage for such rigidity in thoughts.

The wailers (those who will never see any good in the President), who in most cases, members and sympathisers of the Peoples Democratic Party, are pure mischief makers as they find it difficult to come to terms with their loss of power. Being in opposition does not preclude rationality from public engagement. Deliberate fabrication of rumours and wilful distortion of truth are as deadly as blind loyalty. The two are at variance with patriotism.

The continuous romance of the APC- led federal government with blunders has once again  strengthened the narrative of persistent slide in leadership quality globally. Today, from the East to the West, and from the North to the  South, the world is alarmed at the level of mediocrity and incompetence that characterise the leadership of many countries. Those that are not plunging their nations into debts and economic guagmires are busy erecting walls and amplifying  imaginary  differences that divide humanity. In Nigeria, at the local levels and micro units of the society, what are in bold display are incompetence, mediocrity, oppression and exploitation. No wonder the country is in a mess. No level of the society is spared of this lamentable decadence in quality of leadership and unintelligent decision making in administration.

Dealing with the identified menace of declining quality in leadership requires improving  our educational system and strengthening the processes of our socialisation.

On a final note, President Muhammadu Buhari is half-way into his administration, despite his best efforts, a lot more still needed to be done. It is hoped that the  President will reach deeper within himself and summon the courage and resourcefulness needed to  discharge creditably the hopes reposed in him by the people of this country.

God bless Nigeria.

The sisters of the Ooni of ife,Adewusi Enitan Ogunwusi, Adebimpe, Adesola and Folashade have allegedly taken over the palace having sent Olori Wuraola Ogunwusi out of the palace over various allegations.

It is also reported that the trio have gotten another wife, Bolanle for the monarch and Wuraola has been said to have gone of Ife to pack her belongings and she is currently in Lagos with her family members.

Meanwhile, Olori Wuraola’s friends have spilled more details on the main reason why her marriage to the Ooni of Ife crashed within 17 months.

This revelations comes despite the statement issued by the Palace of the Ooni debunking rumors that their marriage have come to an end.

According to Kemi Ashefon Love Haven, Olori Wuraola has been sent out of her matrimonial home and has since gone to retrieve her belongings from the palace which is now being controlled by the Ooni’s sisters—Folashade, Adesola and Adebimpe.

The Olori’s friends are worried about the silence maintained by Wuraola as she avoided spilling some earth-shaking facts that would clean up her battered image.

Her friends alleged that Oba Ogunwusi, who needed a sizeable financial war chest in his battle to become the Ooni of Ife, was actually targeting Olori Wuraola’s wealth and wide contacts.

“If the king proposed to her 24 hours after they met and told her that Ifa (the oracle) had revealed to him that she was his wife, why did he send her away? Did Ifa lie over 17 months after the proposal? What is Ifa saying now? That she is no longer his wife?” her friends asked.
“She fell for his charms and thought he was extremely wealthy but when she moved in, she realized it was all a sham!” they (friends) revealed.
